will.i.am talks about his mutant powers for “Wolverine” film role

Great interview of will.i.am talking about his role as the mutant John Wraith aka Kestrel in the upcoming X-Men film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In the interview with MTV he talks about everything from his casting audition where he was quizzed about his knowledge of the X-Men to the teleportation skills that are required of his character. X-Men Origins: Wolverine comes out May 1, 2009 and begins filming in New Zealand, New Orleans and Australia this month.

Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am joins cast of “Wolverine”

Yesterday it was announced that The Black Eyed Peas’ Taboo was cast in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Now 20th Century Fox has announced that will.i.am has been cast in the new Wolverine movie. What is going on here BEP? Tomorrow it will probably be announced that Fergie is in the upcoming G.I. Joe movie as Cobra Commander. Anyways, yes, it’s official…will.i.am will be making his feature film debut in one of the most highly anticipated films of 2009 as the mutant known as Kestrel (picture shown above).   

Officially titled X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the movie is all about Wolverine’s back story played by of course Hugh Jackman. Other long awaited X-Men characters will finally make their appearance including Gambit, Dead Pool, Silver Fox and The Blob (no not Fat Joe). will.i.am’s Kestrel was a fellow member of Wolverine’s Weapon X program and has the power to teleport. X-Men Origins: Wolverine comes out May 1, 2009. After that, a X-Men Origins: Magneto film will follow.

Will.I.Am in new holiday GAP ad campaign

The Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am is featured in GAP’s new holiday marketing campaign. This includes Will’s photo of him and a nice multi-colored scarf in billboards, bus ads and in-store across ads across the country. Remember when The Black Eyed Peas during their "Behind the Front" era stood for true the-four-elements type hip-hop? My how times have changed. But errrrbody gotta make their money right? will.i.am and Doritos form partnership in search for unsigned talent

Doritos recently announced a partnership with will.i.am and Interscope Records in a nationwide search for an unsigned artist or band to have their song air during the Super Bowl XLII broadcast. The winner will also receive a record deal with Interscope Geffen A&M Records.

The official press release says to enter the Doritos website to submit your video to enter the contest but it will just redirect you to the contest myspace page here. It ‘s interesting to see how hard Doritos is pushing to enter the hip-hop market. First with the Missy Elliott campaign and now this. What’s next…a Soulja Boy Doritos dance? Please God no.
