Nelly to open athletic complex in St. Louis

According to the St. Louis Business Journal Nelly and NBA player Larry Hughes (a St. Louis native) have purchased over 60 acres of farm land in the St. Louis county of Maryland Heights in hopes of turning the land into a multi-million dollar athletic facility.

The facility is still in the earliest stages of planning. Nelly’s development team presented their plans to Maryland Heights officials but has not yet requested zoning variances for the property. Some Maryland Heights officials traveled to Philadelphia at the end of October to visit an athletic facility similar to Nelly’s proposed development.

This could be a considerable risk for Nelly. What the heck is he going to do with 60 acres of farmland if the project does not go through? Get Ashanti’s ass on a tractor to plow that land is what he’s gonna do. Nelly can open up a beet farm or something like that. If he was smart though he would plant a marijuana field. Marijuana sells for much better prices than beets.
