Mos Def & Rihanna in movie “Mama Black Widow”

Rihanna will be making her acting debut alongside acting veteran Mos Def in the upcoming drama Mama Black Widow. The original story was written by famed pimp turned author Iceberg Slim and is about a black family’s migration from the southern Mississippi fields to the ghettoized underworld of Chicago during the 1930′s. Anthony Anderson and Kerry Washington will also be in the film. The question still remains though…will Rihanna be speaking with her accent? And will she have bangs or use a headband? The Nixon team is primarily made up of skate/surf/snowboarders so Mos’ involvement definitely is a way for them to enter the crossover skater/hip-hop market. Mos Def’s “Be Kind Rewind” 3 min. clip from movie

The Mos Def and Jack Black comedy Be Kind Rewind finally hits theaters today in limited release. It will be in approximately 800+ theaters vs. the big release of this week Vantage Point which will be in over 3,000 theaters. Be Kind Rewind has one of the funniest plots as Mos Def and Jack Black remake their own versions of classic films such as Ghostbusters, Robocop…and my favorite Boyz N The Hood. Check out this 3 minute clip from the movie as they film their Boyz N The Hood segment. It’s the classic "Ever see a dead body?" intro scene with Jack Black as Doughboy and I believe the pizza is supposed to represent blood and guts. Nuff said.
