Dr. Dre’s new “Beats” headphone website

As many of you remember, Dr. Dre announced at CES his partnership with Monster Cable in the development of a hi-end headphone line called Beats. Monster has now gone live with the Dr. Dre/Beats website that give us a little more info, photos and specs about the headphones including what you really get for that $399.95 price tag. Still no word when the headphones will ship, just says Spring 2008. That’s all really. If only a "Detox" album website came with this news. Sorry.

Dr. Dre hated on Will Smith during filming of movie

According to Bruce Williams, part of Dr. Dre’s inner circle for the past twenty years, during the filming of Will Smith’s Bad Boys II (2003) Dre secretly dissed Smith in his own film soundtrack. Apparently the producers of the film asked Dre to provide background music for a key scene with Will…
T.I. and Dr. Dre film production deals in danger

Rumors have been running around Hollywood for the past couple of weeks that New Line Cinema home of Lord of the Rings, Austin Powers and Rush Hour might be bought out by parent company Time Warner and absorbed into Warner Brothers. New Line, who always prided themselves on the cutting edge, has been one of the strongest studio supporters of bringing hip-hop into the film industry. They will be releasing Andre 3000′s Semi-Pro and Mos Def’s Be Kind Rewind in the next two months and were the first ones to give the Hughes Brothers a chance in 1993 on a little film called Menace II Society.
Dr. Dre partners with Monster Cable for hi-end headphones

Dr. Dre and Interscope Records Chairman Jimmy Iovine have partnered up with Monster Cable to develop a line of hi-end "state-of-the art" headphones called "Beats." Dre, Iovine and Monster Cable unveiled them at this weekend’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Beats will be available in Spring 2008 for $399.95 and took over two years for Dre and Monster Cable to develop.
Dre stated "When I’m making a track I’m trying to capture the sound that makes me go ‘now THAT’s the sh*t! And I want that reaction from everybody who hears it. I spend a lot of time in the studio listening to my music through headphones…with Beats, people are finally going to hear it the way they should: the way I do."
