BEP’s Taboo confirmed to play Vega in “Street Fighter” movie

Although Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas was announced to star in the upcoming Street Fighter movie last month, at that time his role in the movie was unknown. WoooHah.com predicted then that Taboo would play the role of Vega due to their similarities such as Spanish heritage, long hair and training in martial arts. Well now it is confirmed. Capcom, creators of the Street Fighter video game franchise, have confirmed that Taboo will trade in his microphone and BEP dance moves for the signature Vega claw and mask. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is due in theaters March of 2009.

Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am joins cast of “Wolverine”

Yesterday it was announced that The Black Eyed Peas’ Taboo was cast in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Now 20th Century Fox has announced that will.i.am has been cast in the new Wolverine movie. What is going on here BEP? Tomorrow it will probably be announced that Fergie is in the upcoming G.I. Joe movie as Cobra Commander. Anyways, yes, it’s official…will.i.am will be making his feature film debut in one of the most highly anticipated films of 2009 as the mutant known as Kestrel (picture shown above).   

Officially titled X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the movie is all about Wolverine’s back story played by of course Hugh Jackman. Other long awaited X-Men characters will finally make their appearance including Gambit, Dead Pool, Silver Fox and The Blob (no not Fat Joe). will.i.am’s Kestrel was a fellow member of Wolverine’s Weapon X program and has the power to teleport. X-Men Origins: Wolverine comes out May 1, 2009. After that, a X-Men Origins: Magneto film will follow.

Black Eyed Peas’ Taboo in new “Street Fighter” movie

The Variety has reported that Black Eyed Peas member Taboo has joined the cast for the upcoming Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li movie. This version of the film will be entirely focused on the back story of Chun-Li and not about all the characters from the video game (like the first movie with Van Damme was). Of course the movie will feature many familiar characters. So far the confirmed casting call is as follows:

Chun-Li: Kristen Kreuk ("Smallville")
Balrog: Michael Clarke Duncan (Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins)
Charlie Nash: Chris Klien (American Pie)
Gen: Rick Yune (Die Another Day)
Vega:??
M.Bison:??

Although there is no official word as to what role Taboo will play, my early guess would be Vega. He has the long hair like Vega, looks kinda pretty like Vega and is of Spanish descent like Vega. The main issue though is that Vega is a skilled martial artist…well surprise surprise…Taboo is actually trained in the martial art of Jeet Kune Do. Ok I have now exposed my Street Fighter knowledge which borders on nerd level. Street Fighter is due out in March of 2009. To all the tru playas out therre can I get a HA-DU-KEN!

The Black Eyed Peas design Hardrock Hotel room

The San Diego Hard Rock Hotel had its grand opening yesterday and kicked things off with a concert by frequent San Diego go-ers The Black Eyed Peas. In a partnership with the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel, all four members of The Black Eyed Peas have contributed to designing a $5,000 a night "Rock Star Suite" at the hotel.
