Alicia Keys x WNBA ad
Alicia Keys’ song "Superwoman" has been chosen by the WNBA to be the official theme song of the 2008 season. Here is the ad that is currently running on national TV promoting both the song and the WNBA. Look for more of these integrated promotions as labels continue to find creative ways to expand their ever dwindling marketing dollars. I guess this song works if you are a woman, making you all proud to be female and all. Kinda like the way Snoop’s "Ain’ No Fun" makes us feel proud to be a man.

Alicia Keys signs Vitamin Water deal

Alicia Keys has signed a multi-million dollar endorsement deal with Vitamin Water that will have her joining the Vitamin Water family with the likes of 50 Cent and Kelly Clarkson. 50 has already openly stated his dislike for Alicia so we will see how the new co-workers behave. While the deal has not been officially announced yet, it is rumored that Alicia’s deal will call for numerous commercials, attendance at events and possible concert tie-ins. Via: Highbrid Nation
Queen Latifah and Alicia Keys join cast of “The Secret Life of Bees”

Queen Latifah is confirmed to join the cast of the Fox Searchlight film The Secret Life of Bees which is based on the best selling book by Sue Monk Kidd. Alicia Keys is also in final negotiations to join the cast and play Latifah’s sister and is slowly building up a steady film career as she is also currently involved in a Lena Horne biopic. As mentioned before, Alicia also has her own production company called Big Pita, Litte Pita in a first-look deal with Disney.

Alicia Keys in Lena Horne biopic

According to Page Six, Oprah Winfrey confirmed that Alicia Keys will be starring in an upcoming Lena Horne biopic that originally had Janet Jackson attached to it. Oprah will be producing under her Harpo Films banner most likely in co-production with Alicia’s existing film production company Big Pita, Little Pita. “We’re going to start filming next year,” Oprah said of her Lena Horne biopic. “And we’ve got Alicia.”
Alicia Keys movie production projects in works

Alicia Keys is everywhere. Just last week she was in a nationally televised staring contest with President Clinton. And even though Alicia is fully ramping up for her new album as well, she still has time to work on her film projects out of her production company Big Pita, Little Pita. It was reported last year that Disney was on board to distribute a remake on the 1958 film Bell, Book and Candle which would star Keys as a modern day witch who plans to cast a love spell on the guy she likes but then…UH OH…she accidentally casts the spell on herself and she falls even deeper in love. Film is still in its very early stages with no director or writer attached yet. Seems like a boring chick flick. I prefer Keys in her other role as Georgia Sykes, the hot leather clad assassin in Smokin’ Aces.
In her other project called Catfish, Keys plays a strong-willed black woman who stands up to a powerful corporation whose greed devastates her small Mississippi hometown. She spearheads the biggest strike in U.S. history. This is based on a true story. So it’s basically like a black woman’s version of North Country. Snnnnooooooooozeeee fest. I prefer Keys in her other role as Georgia Sykes, the hot leather clad assassin in Smokin’ Aces…wait…did I already say that? Here is hoping for a Smokin’ Aces 2: The Return of Georgia!
